Only recorded infrequently at one site in South Uist with an additional record from Barra. Associated with scrubby habitats, woodland and gardens. Larvae feed on a range of shrubby plants and small trees such as hawthorn (Crataegus), bramble (Rubus), rowan (Sorbus) willows (Salix) and Vaccinium
