Hydraecia micacea  (Esper, 1789)

Rosy Rustic

A commonly recorded species across the archipelago. On the wing from August to October over machair, scrub and gardens. The larvae feed on many plants including plantains (Plantago spp.), broad-leaved dock (Rumex obtusifolius) and yellow iris (Iris pseudacorus).
