Syngrapha interrogationis  (Linnaeus, 1758)

Scarce Silver Y

The epithet ‘scarce’ in the common name harks back to early days in the south of England. It is commonly recorded in the islands. The flight period is from June to August over moorland. Heather (Calluna vulgaris) and bilberry (Vaccinium myrtillus) are the main food-plants.
