Nut Bud Moth
Recorded in small numbers in South Uist. The alternative common name of Alder Tortrix is probably more appropriate as this species is associated with damp woodland. The larvae spend the winter in the catkins of alder (Alnus) or hazel (Corylus) moving into the leaf buds in the spring.
