Agonopterix assimilella (Treitschke, 1832)

Speckled Broom Buff

This species is found quite widely, especially over eastern Scotland. It flies between April and September when it can be found amongst its foodplant common broom (Cytisus scoparius). An old lost photo of the species taken on 4 October 2013 became the first record for VC110: it was rediscovered early in 2025.
